First description of our project's idea[modifier | modifier le wikicode]

Pollution has been a public matter for years and years. Since the first human beings started to build their civilization. But how long will our planet last if we continue on the rhythm we have had for the last century? The world has been developing different industries the last centuries, from the car industry to the textile industry and many others.

The problem we have founded and that we want to solve is related to the textile industry. This industry is one of the most polluting in the world. As an example, the treatment of nylon to make tights, bras, bulletproof jackets and many other products is one of the most polluting treatments in the world. This is the problem: how to make one of the biggest industries in the world less polluting?

Indeed the chemistry treatment that allows the nylon to make tights or other products is very polluting. This is why we want to replace the nylon by a new product, which production is not polluting. It would see the industry get cleaner and cleaner. The material we want to use is a fish’s (Myxine) snot that allows the industry to make different type of products in a less polluting way because there is no chemical treatment needed to go from the material to a tight for example.

Questions[modifier | modifier le wikicode]

1. What Problem do you want to solve ?

We are currently facing an ecological problem which is the contamination of the textile industry. In so far as this industry is one of the most contaminating industry of the world, an ecological alternative has to be found to promote a new way to make clothes.

This industry contaminates water, workers and customers.

2. Why does this problem exist?

Nowadays, with gloablisation, companies want to be profitable. That’s why they are permissive concerning the work force, the treatment of chemical products and decide to relocate in countries like China or Bungladesh. Textile industry can’t be erased, people has to dress up everyday.

3. What breakthrough are you commited to creating?

Facing this problem, we have decided to to protect the environment and to propose an ecological alternative, we thought to use the Maxine Glutinosa fish. Indeed, a kind of ultraresistant snot secreted by this species could establish the textile fiber of the future. So, it could be an ecological solution for a current issue.
