The topic we have decided to explore is the following :
The lack of born to charge electric cars

Our paper[modifier | modifier le wikicode]

We are witnessing today a general awareness within individuals from all over the world related to the environemental issues. As a matter of fact, and unlike before, global warming and pollution have become issues that everyone relates to, and feels concerned about. More than that, public media and politicians from all over the world try to promote a new healthy and environement-friendly way of life, thus encouraging the protection of our planet's scarce resources. The shift from traditional cars to electric and hybrid ones translates perfectly that will. However, even though it seems that these new cars are the best way to protect our environement, there is actually more about it than what meets the eye. Indeed, with this increase in the use of "green" cars comes an important problem : the availability of reloading facilities. Despite the fact that France ranks among the first electric car users in the world, it still lacks a perfectly efficient network of charging points. This creates a new issue that sometimes prevents potential customers from shifting to the use of these clean cars. Besides the relatively high price of electric cars, this unvailability of charging ports remains the number one problem electric car users are facing. Moreover, given the variety of charging plug types, companies and public authorities tend to choose the cheapest ones, which are also the ones that take the longuest time to recharge one's car. All of these elements set up an important barrier to both electric car users, and to the potential customers ( who abandon the idea of purchasing a clean car because of the complications that come along with it). As we wondered if this would assure a bright future for electric cars, we found out that governments are well aware of this problem, and they are currently working on it. The process might be quite slow, but the costs are relatively high, and the hybrid car era is still new, so results might not appear now, but they eventually will. More than that, electric car manufacturers, mainly Nissan, have also started to set up strategies aiming at producing cheaper and more autonomous cars, as well as installing recharging points across the whole country. This brought us to the conclusion that issues related to the availability of recharging facilities are still existent, but a lot of work is being done by both local authorities, and car manufacturers, thus giving us hope about a better future for the electric car industry.
